Summerdale, Alabama


A rural town in south central Baldwin County, Summerdale is the site of the Naval Outlying Field Summerdale. Also, it has two well known tourist stops. Alligator Alley is an alligator farm, which allows visitors to feed and hold alligators; they welcome photographers.It’s home to Captain Crunch, the alligator who holds the world record for bite strength … 2,982 pounds! Captain Crush is over 800 pounds and is 13 feet 2 inches long. There is also the Spear Hunting Museum, which is said to be the only such museum in the world. It was founded by the self-described "World's Greatest Living Spear Hunter," Gene Morris. Although Morris died in 2011, the museum remains open.
